Rules and Format

  1. This is a team event. Each team match consists of five individual matches and can end when one team has won three out of five matches. Each individual match shall be a best of five games with 11 points in each game.
  2. Before the start of the match, the team that wins the toss shall choose to be either ABC team or XYZ team.
  3. Each team must consist of a minimum of three players (no maximum limits). The first player must play two singles. The second player must play one single and one double. No restrictions on other players.

  4. In order to have participants able to play more games in whole season, the first round will be score based competition. Each team can play with any other team who joined CLC. The winning team gets 3 points, and the losing team gets 1 point. Note: Depending on the number of teams, the teams may be randomly divided into two groups.
  5. Based on the score from first round, Top 16 ranked teams will be advance to the play off round. If there is a tie, use Winning Ratio as the tie breaker.
  6. Playoff round consists of small group round robin + top 8 single elimination.
  7. Top 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups to play round robin based on draws and top 2 teams from each group will be advanced to next round.

Registration/Entry

  1. For players whose company have no entry in the competition, joint teams are allowed in two formats: A) company-to-company joint (limited to two companies only); B) based on same table tennis club. Every player owns that club membership
  2. Every team requires at least 3 persons, no upper limit. Every player can only join one team
  3. Each company or club can register multiple teams, no upper limits.
  4. Each team registration fee $100. Early bird $80. Registration after deadline: $120.

Schedule

  1. 7/13 - 8/10: Registration. Early bird discount applies before 7/18.
  2. 8/13 - 10/26: First round
  3. 11/5: CLC playoff - group round robin
  4. 11/12: Top 8 single elimination, finals and bonus championship game

Awards

  1. The champion: $500 + Trophy
  2. The second place: $200. The third and fourth place: $100
  3. All the other top 16 team will get 3 boxes Nittaku 3 star premium pingpong ball in each team

Others

  1. The official match ball for this competition is Nittaku 3 star Premium. First round, players can use other balls under two teams’ agreement. The organizers will provide match balls for final rounds.
  2. Matches are suggested to be held at Swan pingpong club, however, it can also be held at any other club under two teams agreement.
  3. The match scheduled on weekdays, between 12 - 2PM in Swan requires pre-registration. Only one match will be allowed in this time period. No limitation at any other time.
  4. During competition season, from 8/1 to 10/31, the players (non-swan member) can get special discount in Swan monthly membership at $25
  5. There will be live stream provided for final round matches
