Disclaimer

Swan club is free for open play to table tennis players. However, we reserve the right to refuse service to people who adversely impact public safty, cause property damage or loss, or degrade club sanitary conditions.

All players, visitors, table tennis students and Swan volunteer staffs must obey Swan polices. Swan volunteer staffs are responsible for enforcing the policies. People refuse to follow the policies may be banned from the club for up to 1 month. FYI, Swan club is under 24/7 security camera surveillance.

Swan Club Policies

  1. No cursing, obscenities or violent behaviors.
    • Offenders will be asked to leave the club immediately and be banned for the day. Serious offenders may be banned for up to 1 month.
  2. All players must have signed Waiver before play.
    • Waivers are available on the front desk and on club web site. Please fill it, sign it and send a copy by email to pingpong.community@gmail.com.
  3. Players must wear athletic shoes with non-marking soles.
  4. Do not take any club equipments away from club, especially the free loaner balls and paddles.
  5. Do not kick, pound or sit on tables. Do not put beverage cans on tables.
  6. Use club equipments with care. You will be asked to pay for the damages caused by reckless usages.
  7. Use a ball picker gently. Do not pound it on floor or put force on it.
  8. Open play policy: except the tables reserved for coaching, classes and events, all tables are open play tables and are shared by all players:
    • When there are no free tables, a player may put paddle under a table to wait for the table.
    • The playing players must start a match and finish it in 20 minutes. One of them, by default, the defeated, need to give up the table to the waiting player.
  9. Multi-ball play is generally not allowed. Swan playing fields are relatively small and not enclosed. Using multi-ball, even just two balls, can affect players at neighboring tables.
    • Exception: when club is not busy, you may use barriers to set up an enclosed area, and practice multi-balls within it. You can use club balls in this case. Please pick up all club balls and return them to the original place after use.
  10. After using the Ping Pong Robot, please pick up all balls on floor.
  11. Put bags and shoes on storage rack or into lockers. Leave chairs for people to sit.
  12. Players are responsible for cleaning up after themselves.
    • Put garbage into garbage can.
    • Do not leave unfinished drinks in club. Either bring them home or empty unfinished drinks and put bottles and cans into recycle bin.
    • Clean up spills immediately.
    • Wipe off wet sweat on table and floor after play.
    • Return club paddles and balls to designated containers or where you get them. Do not leave them on floor or tables.
    • You may set up barriers in a different way when club is not busy. However, please put them back in their normal places after you finish your play.

Swan Codes of Ethic

Codes of Ethic are for building a friendly and homey environment at Swan. Some of them are due to the relatively smaller playing fields at Swan Club.

  1. Welcome and play with new players.
  2. Pick up balls for others. When a ball rolls into your field, pick it up and throw it back. This can save other players the time and effort to go across the fields to get the ball, which may distract your play.
  3. Wait for a rally to finish before go across fields to get your ball back. You can also signal to the players so that they can return the ball to you.
  4. Give let to your opponent when balls or players from other tables affect your table.
  5. Give a hand to Swan volunteer staffs when they are cleaning up the club.
  6. Put garbage into garbage can, do not throw them into recycle bin.
  7. Apologize when run into others during play.
  8. Honor other players’ requests to exchange tables to use tables with larger fields if their play needs more space, i.e., for playing double, or playing chopping and fishing styles.
